Not sure everyone knows what a 'saw' is; its an expression like 'Birds of a feather flock together.' Today I was reminded of a particular saw that you might not have heard before.
Everywhere you go, there you are.
So obviously it means that you should be the kind of person that you want to be around because you can never go away from you. Sure you can try to drink or drug yourself away but really that doesn't work now does it.
Most of the time people who want to get away from themselves don't do so for what they have done but for something that they should have done or should do. For one reason or another, often it is fear, they play small and end up not wanting to be there for the results.
This is a picture of a male Baltimore Oriole. they had sort of a bumpy ride with this feeder this year but they refused to become afraid. The oranges and jelly they wanted-their desire-was stronger than any fear they might have had. See the feeder has suction cups to attach it to the window and the suction cups didn't want to stick so I might get the feeder to hold the wieght of the oranges and jelly glasses but when a bird landed on the feeder the whole ting would end up on the ground. Then enough rain fell here and north of here that the river flooded the main drag and traffic was rerouted down our street. But still the birds came. There are Warblers, Orioles and Indigo Buntings that love this feeder and they are not particularly socialble birds. A strong enough desire can take you right past fear if you let it.
