Black Friday? Who cares!

I don't get why people go crazy on the day after Thanksgiving. Yeah, I know that they can get some good deals IF they go early enough. But is it worth it? I can't see it. The price of a particular item must include the time & effort that you put into it not just the purchase price. From where I am sitting I don't see some people placing much value on their time. My goodness, I heard that there were people camped out, forming lines on Wednesday night for Black Friday sales. That means not only did they skip Thanksgiving, only one of the most important family holidays, but they gave in the neighborhood of 2 days to having a chance of saving what amounts to pennies when you factor in their time-if they saved anything at all.
Oh, you say its the thrill of finding a bargain? Consider this, you could bargain hunt once a month for the other 11 months of the year & have all of your Christmas shopping done before Black Friday EVERY year & never have to fight the crowds to save a few pennies not to mention having a stress free holiday where you don't have to blow your budget in one day.
So I guess by now you have figured out I'm not much into shopping. In fact, years ago I devised ways of getting my Christmas shopping done early or from home. I have 14 Nieces & Nephews & my siblings have always bought for each others kids. With that many it can get pretty pricey not to mention that you don't want to get them what they already have, what they don't even want or what doesn't even fit so I get them all coin proof sets. Some of them have over 20 proof sets. One year my husband told me he thought only a couple of the kids welcomed the coins so I asked them. Every single one of them said they loved them. Responses ranged from they love looking at the coins to this is the only gift I still have from Christmas' past & when I look at them it always brings back good memories. One of my nephews, Nathan, has even become a coin collector & the proof sets are only a small part of his collection. His Dad said the sets gave Nathan an appreciation for money & he has become a saver.
Coin sets are good for adults for the same reason. They last, never go out of style, hold their value & are perfect for the person who has everything. Stamps are kind of the same but not really. You have to have some luck & skill to choose the right ones but if the Post Office eventually dies, stamps could become much more valuable.
So next time you are trying to decide whether to get someone some perfume, cologne, a scarf or gloves or a tie, remember that they probably have enough of those things & likely prefer to pick their own. Get them something they can actually sell if they don't want it or save a pass on to someone they love.
Oh my gosh! I just read that someone actually got stampeded at Walmart & died. Now it really is BLACK Friday. How sad is that! Only 34 years old & the people that killed him didn't even stop to lend assistance or even be concerned, too intent on getting their bargains. I shall never be a member of the Black Friday brigade!

The View from Blogtown

I just read a blog that had responses from all over the world. How depressing because right now I only have family & friends that ever look at my blog. Wah Wah Wah. Damn, I've been doing this for over a week, where is everyone? I keep telling myself fill or is that file it & they will come. And if you want them to come more than once it better be good. Oh the pressure! But I figure I have like 3 months to figure out what is worth following before I can submit my blog to directories so its just a matter of finding my voice. For me, the tricky part is what I can safely write. What if I write about the people who live around here & they read it? Same for family & friends. And I would so love to share some things about some of the people I know. You know, not to make fun of them but because I just don't get them sometimes. I grew up in a rural area but where I live now is the sticks! Strangely, the area I grew up in is now suburban. The people I remember deer hunting when I was growing up never hung any deer from a tree out in the yard but people do that here-I don't get that.
When we went to the local bank to apply for a home loan, the banker asked us some questions then said for us to call back in a few days. When Jim called he said, "yeah, we drove by it looks good, lets close on the 30th" & then when we wanted to refi after our costs were greater then we thought they would be he said "Well this time we're gona need to see inside." Heehee. I pretty much bet very few people can say the banker came by, took a look at your house & decided on the spot whether or not to loan you money. It's 2008 & stores around here still have counter checks. I'll bet a lot of you don't even know what a counter check is. Its like a starter check you get when you open a new checking account & you fill it out like a regular check but include your bank account numbers & I have not seen them anywhere but at a bank ever! When a big football game happens on Halloween they move Halloween- which by the way treat or treating hours are already mandated by each town but the day officially changes sometimes too..
Once you go into the restaurants around here a few times, you understand why they ask you if you need a menu. They all have the same basic things & then each has two or three dishes the others don't have. From that point on you don't need a menu & you can decide what place to go to based on what it is that you want to eat. New Years Eve is different around here too. The bars all turn a table or two (or for some its the pool table) into a pot luck with food patrons have brought in. Suprisingly enough, some of those places have some damn good food. I had BBQ Green Beans at one of them. Sounds bad right? But...
Take a can of green beans & drain it. Pour it in a cassarole dish and sprinkle on some chopped onion. Pour on some BBQ sauce-I prefer Sweet Baby Rays-and heat it up. The sprinkle on some bacon, fried crisp & crumbled. It's actually quite good & a relief from the green bean cassarole that I've already had too many times during the holiday season. You can even add mushrooms if you'd like. De lish.
So by now, I know that you all envy us, living out here in the sticks in the land that time forgot, but hold onto your hats-this is the piece de resistance-there is not one single stop light in the entire county. Not one. I dare you to try and top that.

Yeah, I know.

Yeah, yeah. I know that I didn't include fiber in my list yesterday. Mea Culpa. I considered it but had already extolled the virtues of fiber so I didn't think I needed to go over that again.. Sarr ree! But you know, not one person said anything about that I didn't say the basic formula is a diet low in fat, sugar, salt & oil & high in fiber & protein.
Today I wanted to share the top 10 losers in no particular order. All of these people got these results using the products.

Rick-lost over 70 lbs, all his allergies & has kept the weight off almost 5 years now.
Kim-also lost over 70 lbs, no longer has fibromylgia for almost 3 years
Jeff-lost 30 lbs in 30 days & reduced his blood sugars from over 300 to under 100
Lori-went from a size 12 to a size 2 in 6 weeks & got off thyroid meds almost 4 years ago
Jim-lost 32 lbs in 8 weeks, got off meds for allergies, arthritis, high bp & gout almost 4 years ago
Nathan gained 10 lbs in 1 month & got off his meds for acid reflux 3 years ago
Curtis-had borderline high bp. Now lost 40 lbs & normal bp for 3 months

Do diets work?

I have seen some commercials suggestions that diets do not work. In a way that is true if you consider that diet actually means the food you eat rather than something someone put together to try to lose weight. The typical american diet does not work today because food today has less nutritive value than even 30 years ago-no lie-they did a study & found this to be true. That diet also has tons of convenience foods in it & lots of processed foods. Let's face it, its called convenience food because it is convenient. But much is lost in the processing of our foods. So much so that the AMA is even saying that we need to supplement our diet with vitamins.
I can't tell you how many times I have heard people say, I've tried every diet & nothing works. Why is that? My Top 10 diet suggestions;

1. Everyone is different, there is no one size fits all diet. Take my brother for example. I got him on a program & at first he was doing well, but he couldn't stick to it. He also tried the Adkins, same thing. Then he tried Weight Watchers, bingo. For him success was in the points. It wasn't that the other things he tried didn't work, they just didn't work for him. There are so many diets out there and nobody has truly tried them all but if you have tried many, many & none have worked then its time you just concentrate on eating healthy.
2. Whatever diet you choose does not get rid of cravings. Ok, this may sound strange but cravings come from two things, not enough water or not enough nutrition. If you know you are drinking enough water, then you need to supplement your diet because something is missing. Like I said in an earlier post, I used to crave sugar-all my life-but once I supplemented my diet, no more cravings.
3. Diets make me crabby or tired or both. See number 2 & only weigh yourself every 3 days.
4. Another common complaint; 'I don't have any willpower'. See two & understand that studies show people who have a support group have better long term success in losing & maintaining that weightloss. These days there are weight loss challenges, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig- just to mention a few places where someone is there to support you.
5. And another; "I have trouble with portion control." Get smaller dishes & don't have seconds.
6. And yet another; "I don't even know what to eat!" No problem. Join a weight loss challenge. Not only will they give you a 12 week nutrition course, $30.00 of your entry fee is paid back out to the biggest losers-not gonna get that at any of the other places & they will give you a meal plan too.
7. I'm too sick, fat or (or whatever), I was thinking of bariatic surgery. What are you kidding!!?? Hello, your colon is where you body gets its nutrition, most of those procedures severely limit you ability to absorb nutrition not to mention the additional operations you're gonna need for all that excess skin! Diet properly & your skin shrinks WITH you. Start with a colon cleanse instead, then pay close attention to your nutrition. And that cleanse is good for everyone not just the morbidly obese.
8. There are so many diets out there, people can get overwhelmed. How do you choose one? That is actually easier than you would think. Any diet program should stress water, fruits & veggies-in other words-nutrition above all. When your body gets what it needs, it lets what it doesn't need go. This is not to say that you can have as much as you want as long as its a fruit,veggie or meat no you still need to have only as many calories as needed for someone your height & lifestyle.
9. Water, water, water.
10. You say you aren't a dietician. No problem. See #4 or go online where there are any number of websites that list pretty much every food, including fast food, nutritional & caloric counts & print it out.

Now, I could tell you that buying a program from me is the only way to go but I am not going to do that. Sure it would be nice but...the purpose of my posts are to help other people & you don't know me or my products not to mention that there really are many 'diets' that work. My programs just make it easier for people to lose or maintain their weight & feel great at the same time. Really if you stop to think about it, who doesn't want to eat pie for breakfast & lunch? Could it be any easier than that?

Top 10 Sources of Protein

So it looks like I finally found something people are interested in reading about; nutrition. So todays top 10 list is all about protein. Before I found the products & started learning about nutrition, I was a person obsessed with chocolate & sweets. Meals were light on meat, veggies & fruits & all about potatoes, pasta or rice. I had migraines all the time & arthritis in my elbow so bad I wanted to get a replacement or cut off my arm-how bad is that? I didn't take any daily medications so if you had asked me how my health was I'd have said good. And yet I was putting on weight every month & PMS, I had constant staff infections that showed up as boils, the migraines & arthritis I mentioned earlier & I had SAD-seasonal affective disorder-so as early as July I would start to be depressed about winter.
I didn't just get started on a program though, I also got a meal plan & some literature explaining the importance of protein. Now I really am healthy, I don't get migraines, no arthritis, no PMS,no staff infections, no cravings for sugar or chocolate, I lost 17 pounds & I no longer care how long or short the days are & I can enjoy each season.
Now, I didn't just spend that much time talking about myself because its all about me. No, I want you to really get the connection between EVERYTHING you have going on physically & your nutrition. And it starts with protein-an important component of every cell in the body. An organice compond, protein is composed of 22 amino acids-the building blocks of life. Protein is stored in muscles & organs and the body uses it to build & repair tissues, as well as for the production of enzymes & hormones. Proteins are what make it possible for blood to carry oxygen throughout the body. Along with fat & carbs, protein is a 'macronutrient' meaning the body needs relatively larg amounts of it. Protein should be 10-35% of your total caloric intake. Lack of protein can cause loss of muscle mass, impaired immunity & a weakening of the heart & respiratory system. High protein diets like the Adkins diet are popular because protein helps manage hunger. Another benefit of protein is that it raises your resting metablolism by maintaining muscle mass.
So lets get to some protein sources for snacks;
1. Hard-boiled egg 80 calories & 4 grams of protein
2. Bite size Shredded Wheat 3/4 cup 110 calories & 4 grams protein
3. Yogurt, nonfat, sugar-free 100 calories & 5 grams of protein
4. Soup, tomato made with nonfat milk, 1 cup 120 calories & 6 grams of protein
5. Soy crisps, 1 ounces (about 17 crisps) 110 calories & 7 grams of protein
6. Mozzarella Cheese 1 stick 70 calories & 8 grams of protein
7. Milk, nonfat or 1% 1cup 90-110 calories & 9 grams of protein
8. Cottage Cheese, nonfat 1/2 cup 70 calories & 14 grams of protein
9. Turkey jerky, 1 ounce 101 calories & 19 grams of protein
10. Tuna, 4 ounces, water packed 135 calories & 27 grams of protein

Nuts are a good source of protein but high in fat & calories. Daily protein sources should be divided between plant & meat sources for non-vegetarians.
So there you have it; a post that was not biting satire. Hope you enjoyed it & learned something otherwise I wasted my time & yours. I myself forgot that eggs were not all the high in protein, I guess because eggs are actually very nutritive rich. Maybe tomorrow the top 10 will be more of that dark humor we all love so much, maybe not. Ok, I can't lie; its gonna be so all about funny ideas people have. I think.

Excuses, excuses

It's amazing to me that people will count every single penny that they spend but they never count a calorie. Then they complain that they are fat, fat, fat. Gosh, wonder how that happened? I laughed to myself when I was talking to someone the other day & she said; "oh, I can't afford your products" while she was holding a large pumpkin latte from that famous coffee place that started in Seattle. On both her counts she was way off. Coffee is not a meal & for less than half what she spent on that latte she could have had my product and gotten less than half the 700 calories she was drinking. Duh. So my list for today is top 10 excuses for staying fat!

1. It costs too much to eat healthy! Yeah, like its cheap to be unhealthy. You spend more in a month on cookies, chips, ice cream & snacks than a program costs. You buy what you really want. We all do.
2. I don't have time for that. But you have time to watch all you favorite shows or go shopping. We all have the same 24 hours a day & we all choose how we fill those hours.
3. I tried that, it didn't work for me. No, you cheated every day & you didn't do what I told you to do.
4. I can't drink that much water! Oh, but you can drink soda or coffee non-stop?
5. My doctor won't let me use your products. Your doctor says you can't have food?
6. It gave me constipation. No, you didn't drink enough water & gave yourself constipation.
7. It gave me diarrhea. No, lack of fiber & all the crap you've been eating up til now gave you diarrhea. Once you clean out your colon you'll be fine.
8. My husband won't let me. And that's ok with you? Is he the beneficary of your life insurance?
9. I'm a big person, I need more food! What are you a sumo wrestler? You do not need more than 1800 calories probably less. You don't even exercise!
10. It's runs in my family, everyone in my family is large. It's genetic. Know what else runs in families? Poor eating habits. Monkey see, monkey do.

Now, in looking back at what I wrote, I don't see the humor I was trying for because this just is NOT funny. It is so sad that people are fat and unhealthy, trying every crazy diet or running to the doctor to save them. Doctors are not wellness providers they are sickness managers. It's cheaper & easier to take charge sooner than later. Once you are on the slipery slope of bad nutrition choices, its all downhill.
If you think that I am picking on obese people, you are mistaken. I try to think of ways to reach unhealthy people every day. I want to help people be healthy & happy. But I can't want it more for them than they want it for themselves.

Top 10 Ways to Make Sure You Never End Up in a Retirement Home

I am feeling perverse today-maybe its the economy! I talked to a new Distributor last nite & he said he was suprised how few of the overweight/sick people in his office were interested in the products but how many of the healthy people do want product. I asked him to remember before he got on the products--did he remember that he didn't really make the connection between health & food? How sad that people do not remember how rare cancer used to be & see that it is now 1 in 3, yes 1 in 3!!!!! How did this come to pass? Well, many factors including that we used to grow our own food or purchase it from local sources. Our fruits & veggies weren't picked before they were ripe so they had some nutrition. Hormone mimicing pesticides & growth hormones weren't used on crops & livestock. Enough said?
So since there is no magic pill to cure anything why try for a long life when you know you're just going to end up in a nursing home, misrable. lonely & sick-waiting to die? Here are my top 10 recommendations for ensuring that does not happen to you;

1. Drink anything but water. Soda is great for leaching calicum from your body so drink lots of soda!

2. Avoid fiber! Death starts in the colon & fiber is important to a healthy colon not to mention that it aids in weight loss or weight maintanence.

3. Eat fast food or 'conveinence' food all the time. High in sodium, high in calories, sugar & fat, processed foods offer little or no nutritive value & they will help you put on lots of pounds so you can develop life shorteners like high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, etc.

4. Never eat breakfast. Skipping breakfast encourages you to binge later & increases your chance of developing diabetes by over 300%.

5. Don't read the label!!! It's written in fine print for a reason. Just look for the banner touting its so called 'health benefits' like fatfree, fiber rich, etc. Fatfree does not mean low cal or sugar free. Fiber rich does not mean it has more than 1 gram of fiber so if you don't read the label you can tell yourself that you are making "healthy choices".

6. Don't exercise! Face it, exercise is hard work & you have to do it like forever! I don't have time for that, do you have time for that? Of course you don't, all of your favorite shows are available online now!

7. Who needs protein? Potatoes, pasta & rice among other carbohydrates are filling & cheap, who cares if they are not good for you? Besides protein feeds muscle & who has those?

8. Go to your doctor often & ask for any medication you saw a commercial for that sounded just like what you have. Don't ask about side effects, don't ask if it cures anything or just manages sickness, someone has to pay for the doctors BMW!

9. Smoke, Drink alcohol & use as many drugs as you can afford even though these causes of death have been vastly surpassed by obesity related deaths including diabetes, heart disease & others, smoking, drinking & using drugs will accelerate your results.

10. Become a pesimest if you're not already. Hang out with people who see the downside to everything. Watch programs that focus on the negative. Talk incessently about how bad everything is especially your health & voila' you'll find out its even worse that you thought!

So there you are, my top 10 ways to make sure you won't end up in a retirement home. Of course, you could take a hint from Jack LaLane & eat right, exercise and live a healthy life thus never ending up in a nursing home but that is just sooooo much work isn't it???!!!???

good day sunshine

Today I woke up to a beautiful sunshiney day. And it was warmish too! Woohoo! The prisoners were happy too because they like to work outside but not when its freezing. Of course they were happy after they finshing working too b/c the ladies made them fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing and green beans-man they were HAPPY. But they earn it. They do all the work the town can't afford to pay anyone to do or find volunteers young & healthy enough that could do the work. And those boys work hard-they get more done in 4 hours than most people get done in a day. But they are oh so funny sometimes. Many of them are from Chicago and have never been to the country before. Some have actually never seen a live cow before.
In August, they were here one day to clean up the weeds along the road up to the cemetary. There is one house on the hill and we had to ask them to lock up their chickens b/c some of the prisoners were afraid of them after they got chased by the rooster! Hehe. You'd think they wouldn't let them run free after the fox got all their birds last year-ah the blessed quiet once they were gone! The fox didn't stick around this season after the flood water came and with it about 1000 people a day building a sandbag wall, then tearing it down once the flood was over.
Of course that meant we had more cats survive the summer probably to die this winter if its as cold as the woolyworms predict. I must say I did miss the sight of the lone stray dog (part beagle) chasing the fox around when it was foolish enough to come out during the day. You'd think that stupid dog would be able to catch that fox or at least tree it but no-deedeedee.
But now the prisoners have left for the day so now the mayor (my husband Jim) & I can go collect some firewood so we can have a nice fire on cool evenings like tonight will be. It's so great to live in the country sometimes.

Feed the cats dude!

Now that cold weather has arrived some of the feral cats around here are milling around by the back door every morning. This is unusual for them because they are feral. One of them, I call her Lil' Mama, used to run away at the sight of any human now she'll let you get within say 7 feet of her. When the weather is warm, they sneak into the garage for chow at times when there is not much activity around the door. If we had been able to find homes for the cat that took up residence in the garage-Big Mama AKA Calli- and her kittens then I guess the feral cats wouldn't be here to cage a meal every day but there are no shelters around here and no pound. Big Mama moved in after her people declawed her but didn't get her fixed so when she was pregnant and they were moving she was left behind-and I won't even tell you what I think of that! We didn't want to feed her but she ate every mouse in the garage & the shed-no small feat out here the in country I assure you-so she earned her keep. She had 4 babies and sadly we found a home for only 1 of them. Her babies are now almost 15 months old but the family is not growing because they are all fixed. I really wish I could find a home for each of them. One of them 'ran away from home' last week. My husband Jim says he didn't like all of the other cats being around but who knows? It's a hard knock life out there and one of the foxes, coyotes, bobcats or whatever could have gotten him. It's strange that before the flood of 1993 they didn't have a feral cat population here in town. Bad people have dumped their unwanted dogs out around here-as if they will find a home on one of the farms instead of a bullet-but not cats until I guess they found out about the area when it was on the news every night. Once the cats were here & had to scramble for food, you could forget trying to round em up-they are totally wild! Lil' Mama is super old at 2 years. That's how long I've seen her coming into the yard looking for food. She always ran away as soon as she saw me or Jim. It took her until about 5 months ago to not run but she still runs if she thinks you are coming toward her. She has 2 babies, 1 is sooo cute! It looks like a little fox-being an orange & gray tabby mix-with the gray only showing up at the tips of his coat & tail. The other looks like a woolyworm. The babies will let me pet them just a little IF they are hungry enough & eating at the time. There is another feral cat-Duders-who is so freindly he would love to be someones pet & the neighbors cat, which is a bizzare thing. The neighbors feed him dog food because he didn't like the brand of cat chow they got him-Old Roy-so he comes over here too. Several of the garage & feral cats don't like him so fights ocurr here daily.
So finally I am getting to the point!!! This morning I accidently smacked my hand on the back of a chair in the kitchen & really bruised one of my fingers, how stupid is that? I wanted Jim to feed the cats while I iced it but guess what-he just had to do this that and the other. Dude, would just just please feed the f###ing cats????!!!!! They are hanging out under the bird-feeders!!

Three's a charm?

Well, I actually looked at a couple of blogs and decided while my posts are sort of in sync with what a blog should be they are boring to everyone but me so today I will try for something better that anyone could like.

Yesterday the appraiser came by. We had no idea of what to expect this being a strange time for the economy and for real estate in particular. When we bought the house, we toured it and made an offer even before the for sale sign went into the yard. That was in 1995. The house was on the market for the first time ever. That wouldn't be impressive if it weren't for the fact that the house was built in the late 1800s. We happened to know the son of the agent that got the listing and had mentioned to him that we'd like to buy it if it ever came up for sale. When she got the listing she told him and he said to call us. That was on a Thursday. We lived in Missouri back then so we came up on Saturday to see it. I still remember being so disappointed when I went inside and saw the drop ceilings and paneled walls. To say that the house was in sad shape is an understatement. It had not been painted in so long most of the paint was gone with only gray clapboard siding showing and we so did not want to give more than $10,000. for it but.....we wanted the house and we knew once the sign went in the yard others would outbid us so we offered the $29,500. asking price and waited for the committee to decide. I say committee because the house belonged to the Methodist Church. The house was built by a doctor for his wife. They married late in life and had no kids. She survived him and left it to her niece, who never married. She didn't want her family to fight over it so she left it to the churh with the stipulation that it could not be sold for at least 40 years. The church used it as a Parsonage until they could no longer afford to have a minister then they used it as a meeting place once a month.

So the committee met and accepted our offer & for 2 years we got to hear from people about how they were promised the house because someone on the committee told them they'd make sure they got it and blah, blah, balh. And oh yeah, did I mention in an earlier post that we live in a tiny community way out in the sticks and if you aren't related to 9/10ths of the people here you are an 'outlander'? Think 'Green Acres' with a river view.

So we worked on the house for 2 years before we could move in. Stripping wallpaper (like a dozen layers) and all the woodwork, rewiring, replumbing, refinishing the floors, and so on. The result was an awesome house. Since we moved in we rehabbed the attic into more living space, the carriage house into a guest house/shop, added a garage to the carriage house and built a 40'x72' shed. For the past year, we tried to sell the house but couldn't find a buyer and barely had any prospects. Talk about suprised! We so thought the house would sell the first week. My husband decided it was the asking price, hence the appraisal. So the guy arrived exactly on time & we showed him around. He loved the property! He called today to ask some follow up questions and said ballpark right now with the comparables it would be over 200K-right around our asking price & more than we were willing to take. So we are scratching our heads wondering why we didn't even get an offer? Life is strange isn't it?

Another day in Paradise!

Knowing that to form a habit one must repeat the behavior daily until; I decided to go ahead and get this out of the way early-you know eat the crust first-but here I sit, relatively early in the day and without much of anything to talk about. I could, of course, bitch about the weather since I am not a fan of winter but why would I focus on what I don't like and get more of that?

At the risk of boring everyone, I will go into great detail about what I think is exciting in my life right now because that is what I think about most of the time. We just picked up the local weekly just so we could see our new ad & it was awesome! I didn't place the ad so I did not realize we got a quarter page ad! We have all of our materials and supplies ready now we just have to wait for people to call. Fortunately there are so many fat, er obese people out there that need our help and when they see that we offer a class to teach them about nutrition, there is a support group of people with a shared goal & a coach to keep them on track not to mention that they can win cash for the top 3 losers, we know that they will call! We just can't decide if we want to go rent meeting places in the 3 counties we ran the ad in or do the classes online in a webinar. Isn't technology great? Our ad runs next week too and I was thinking about modifying it. The thing I really love about this business is the inventiveness of distributors and I know I have picked up many customers just by showing them how to eat pie and lose weight!

No, it is not any pie like you have ever had. It is shake pie and is actually good for you and low in calories not to mention delicious. I had a piece of pie this morning made with chocolate shake mix, chocolate soy, chocolate fudge sugar-free instant pudding & an oreo crust. OMG it is sooo rich and I relished every bite! I lost 11 pounds the first month I switched to the pies & I wasn't even trying!

As I read back over this I wonder how many people are as interested in health & nutrition as I am but I do know that so many commercials are about medications, weight loss or supplements-my goodness they are putting energy additives into cranberry juice & stuff in yogurt so the market must be massive! And if people will buy the heck out of stuff that is at a food grade what will they do when they find out some products are graded on a pharmaceutical grade so they contain a much higher percentage of the stuff they all claim to have 100% of!

Anyway, enough of that stuff. Right now I need to get some things done around here. We live in a rural area and none of the banks finance for more than 5 years on a home loan. At the end of the 5 years they look at your payment history & decide if they want to go another 5 years. Ours is due soon & we decided to shop around this time so we have to get an appraisal. Last time we got one the guy didn't even include half the property or the shed & we finished the attic and rehabbed the carriage house since then so we know it will appraise much higher than it did last time. I am particularly curious how it will work out this time because FEMA is buying some of the properties across the street so our good river view is going to be a fantastic river view but out of the floodplain. Some people don't think that adds to a property's value but it sooo does. They call them a 'million dollar view'. So I need to give my floors the once over and make sure the cat didn't vomit anwhere I don't usually go in the house like the attic. That bitch.

Well the day is not even half over but my husband says nobody wants to read this much. I did point out that nobody has read my blog anyway so what does it matter how long it is!! I breathlessly await the explosion of readers! Haha.

Getting My Feet Wet

So here I sit wondering how it is that I allowed my husband to talk me into starting a blog. Yes, I can write but....can I write things people actually want to read? Then it occurs to me-I can write about people in my downline and I don't even care if anybody reads it! Stuff I can never say upline, downline or sideline I can certainly say to none of the above!
And that thought couln't have come at a better time as I have just received a fax from a quitter. I will never understand some people. Got her started over a year ago. She did half of what I told her to do. Her husband did half what I told him to do. Together in 90 days they managed to build a customer base of $3000.00 a month so they were putting $1500.00 in their pockets. The she decides she must get her knees replaced. I tell them do not let your customers get lost while you recover. Guess what? Yup, two months later they decide to contact their customers. Suprise! All their customers found another Distributor or decided to quit! Now instead of going out and getting new customers, she declares they are broke and this doesn't work! No honey-YOU didn't work. OMG! At the same time, I sponsor a new guy- I'll call him big C. Big C does exactly what I tell him to do-in less than 30 days he builds a retail base of over 3K. Then his is hunting one day and accidently gets shot by two hunters (shotguns from a distance so fragments only) and he goes to the hospital. He could have left his business at home but no, he chats up people at the hospital and gets 2 more customers!! This is his 3rd month in the business and he will do well over 10K in business this month.
Same business opportunity, same products, totally different results! For me what is really truly strange is that both distributorship got excellent results from the products. She no longer has problems with Rosecea, she and her husband lost lots of weight and he stopped needing a back brace and knee braces because he isn't bothered by arthritis anymore and Big C lost over 40 pounds in 2 months. One distributor sees unliminted opportunity for sharing the products and the business and one sees only problems.
