I wrote this several months ago and I don’t know why I didn’t post it but the message is good at any time of the year so here you go;
It has rained here so much lately that when I look out my window in the morning and see another cloudy, rainy day I wonder if I moved to Seattle and forgot to tell me.
In all of the years I have been here I have never seen the river rise so high in October, right now it is already at flood stage and more rain is expected.
All of this rain and clouds affects people but it also affects flora and fauna in more ways that you might realize. Take moles for example. Moles seem to have multiplied in our little village for the last several years. Many people have spend countless hours and dollars trying to get rid of all the moles. Usually just before winter the moles seem to do their worst damage but not this October. I haven’t heard a complaint or seen a mole run for weeks.
What is my point today? Into every life some rain must fall and sometimes it is a lot of rain but that rain is for a reason. Maybe you can’t see any reason now but that doesn’t mean there is no reason or that eventually the rain will end, sunny skies will return and change will have happened. When your life is full of rain it may be difficult to think of anything else but it can be done if you trust that the rain will end and concentrate on your blessings. Remember that life is a journey and like any journey into a new place, what you see along the way might not be anything like what you expected but you will be grateful for that when you arrive. The key is to stop thinking about the rain and start planning for the sunshine.
