Christmas Cards for Everyone? Anyone?

I used to love the whole Christmas card thing. Making a list, picking out the cards, writing a little personal note in each card, finding the perfect Christmas stamp and dropping the cards in the mail. Somewhere in time, and if I was forced to make a guess I'd say about 5 years ago, it stopped being fun and started to be too much work. The notes got shorter. In fact last year, very few people got any note at all, most just got a happy holidays or merry Christmas. So where did my Christmas spirit go? If I knew the answer to that one, I'd go and get it back!
I have put this 'chore' off longer each year. Now, if I don't get my cards done today and in the mail, they simply will not arrive in time because almost all of them go out of state. Great, pressure to do what I already don't want to do. I even entertained the idea of not sending them out at all. Don't think that'd go over well. 30 years I send them out and then nothing? People would be asking too many questions-like 'are you insane? You were the one that always bitched at me if I didn't send you a card and then you don't send me one!' So you see, I am required to send them out whether or not I feel like it. But hey, it won't be so bad, I'll just eat the crust first. Instead of going for the easy ones first, I'll tackle the ones I have to write notes in, like to my aunt and uncle. I'll be so eager to get to the easy ones that I'll fly thru all the tough ones. Yeah, that's what I'll do. And even easier, I'll just write about the weather lately and the flood earlier this year. Whew. I'm half done already!
